Thrift Shop Donation Information


Thank you for your interest in making a donation to the Thrift Shop in support
of the many programs and services that Freeport Community Services provides
to residents of Freeport and Pownal.

We are a 501c3 non-profit corporation and your donations are tax-deductible.
Frequently asked questions:
WHERE DO I BRING DONATIONS?
    1. Deliver to the Loading Dock on the right side of 55 Depot St.
    Donations to the loading dock may be dropped off anytime, 24/7.

    2. Donations can also be brought inside the Thrift Shop and dropped off downstairs
    at the Donation Sorting Area.
    Donations can be brought inside only during shop hours.
WHAT ITEMS DO YOU ACCEPT?
    All items should be in good, clean, usable condition. We accept: furniture, antiques, housewares, linens, books, clothing for men, women and children of all ages and sizes, hardware, sports equipment, jewelry and small appliances.

    We DO NOT accept: TVs, computers or items in poor condition. Please dispose of these items properly
HOW DO I GET A RECEIPT?
    1. Click on donation form and download the form. Drop off the completed form with your donation.
    OR
    2. Fill out a donation form at the front counter in the Thrift Shop.

    Either way, a signed and dated receipt will be given to you by our volunteer.
**IMPORTANT**
    You are responsible for keeping a list of donated items and, with the help of IRS guidelines that you will receive, assessing their value.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THINGS THAT THE THRIFT SHOP DOESN'T KEEP?
    We keep as much as possible of your donations to help those in our community. Due to space limitations, surplus items are sent to other social service organizations. We do our best to see that your generous donation finds a good home! Thank you for your support. We couldn't do it without you.
